I remember going to Buchholz Nursery for years lusting over this tree. The colors are out of this world! 'Rainbow' leafs out as a brighter red with a reddish pink variegation. The leaf on 'Rainbow' quickly becomes a black red with hot pink variegation. The deeply divided large leaves make an excellent pallet to enjoy such spectacular colors. Avoid fertilizer with this beauty. Any branches not showing pink variegation should be pruned. 'Rainbow' turns to a brighter red in the fall. We expect 'Rainbow' to reach 8 ft in 10 years. Give morning sun with protection from the hot afternoon sun for best display of color.
