'Donzuru bo' is a seedling selection by Masayohi Yano that was found as a chance seedling from 'Tsukumano' in Japan and introduced in 1992. This matsumurae selection leafs out with heavily divided leaves that are a deep maroon. During the summer in the south, 'Donzuru bo' will turn to a green red. Fall color is a bright vivid red. The overall habit of 'Donzuru bo is upright with a spreading semi-pendulous habit. 'Donzuru bo' may reach up to 14 ft in height and width in 10 years.
