Azalea 'J. Valentine’ Red Flowering Harris Azalea

Azalea 'J. Valentine' Large Orange-Red Blooms

Evergreen Azalea With Big Fiery Red Flowers

Harris Hybrid

Zones 6-8

‘J. Valentine’ was hybridized during James Harris’s “Red Period”, as Roger Duvall calls it. During this breeding period after 1985, Harris had a goal of producing great red flowering evergreen azaleas that could handle cold winters. ‘J. Valentine’ displays exceptional bright orange-red 3.5-4 inch flowers and is cold hardy to -10 degrees F. ‘J. Valentine’ is a great re-bloomer.

Like a good grandfather, azalea guru Harris named ‘J. Valentine’ after his grandson Jared who was born on Valentine’s Day. Sometimes this cultivar has been sold under the name ‘Jay Valentine’.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
