Hydrangea 'Pia’ is quite a useful small hydrangea in the landscape and garden. It has a tight compact habit and a gets 2.5 - 3ft in height and width in 10 years, making it one of the smallest Hydrangea macrophylla. Masses of large pink mophead blooms make this dwarf hydrangea have a big impact in the summer. ‘Pia’ is excellent for small spaces or containers due to this small size. The flowers on ‘Pia’ make good cut flowers. ‘Pia’ has been known under the names ‘Pia Mina’, ‘Pink Elf’, and ‘Winning Edge’. If you have extremely acidic soil, use garden lime to bring out the deeper rose pink color on the blooms on Hydrangea ‘Pia’.
